CMJ adds to member services portfolio with launch of HR solutions package

The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) has added to its growing portfolio of member services with the launch of a robust HR solutions package.

Following feedback and discussions between members at the CMJ’s regular virtual Growth & Learning Network meetings, the buying group identified common HR needs and questions arising across its membership. The CMJ’s first step – during lockdown – was to provide a range of documentation and templates for immediate support, particularly around the changing furlough scheme and other associated Covid-19 HR issues. This included issuing every CMJ retailer with a comprehensive Return to Work manual.

Since then, the CMJ has spent considerable time researching different HR partners suitable for its diverse membership, to provide support and advice for the current climate and for long-term support.

The CMJ has now put together a comprehensive package of HR partners for the group, providing varying levels of expertise – from a free legal helpline all the way to a HR specialist company with a team of experienced advisors, who can offer flexible HR and health and safety packages to suit any business.

Amber Saunders, Membership Development Executive at the CMJ, said: “We are delighted to announce the extension of our support package for members to include a range of HR solutions. With rules on furlough changing month by month, for example, and many businesses facing unprecedented pressures and staffing challenges, we wanted to ensure that our members had easy access to legitimate sources of information and advice, rather than having to attempt to source their own solutions on an individual basis.

“All the partners we have chosen to work with are either offering preferential rates or exclusive services, so our members can be sure they are benefitting from the very best HR guidance and advice – and there really is something to suit every business.”

This thorough HR package adds to a service offering that includes the successful launch of an exclusive PPE menu, which was put together to offer safe reopening solutions for members. The CMJ has also provided its members with practical support around re-opening, including in-store signage, window decals and social media assets, so that retailers can communicate effectively with customers and reassure consumers that their stores are safe environments to shop in.

The CMJ held regular networking and learning initiatives during lockdown including a webinar programme and weekly virtual Growth & Learning Network meetings, bringing members together on a virtual basis so that they could discuss concerns and share advice with their peers.

The CMJ is the largest jewellery and watch buying group in the UK and Ireland, with 142 retailers representing more than 300 stores.
