Forum Jewellers melts the ice at local Family Fun Day!

The recent spell of warm weather proved really timely when CMJ independent retailer, Forum Jewellers, supported their local Family Fun Day along with Bering Watches.

A Bering ice sculpture which contained a Ladies and Gents Bering watch was the centre of attention on the Forum Jewellers stand and visitors were invited to guess how long it would take for the sculpture to melt and release the timepieces. Those closest to the actual time then won the watches. A cuddly polar bear was also on offer for children. Entrants had to complete a form with their guess and email address and were also given a Bering Β£15 discount voucher to use in-store.

In addition, entrants were invited to give a Β£1.00 donation with their entry and a total of Β£106 was raised for the Dorset Children’s Foundation.

Helen Molloy, Forum’s Director explains: β€œWe brought the ice sculpture back by popular demand as our customers have been repeatedly asking about it since 2015 when we last showcased it as an activity.” She continues: β€œIt’s really important for us at Forum to support the local community who are very loyal to us and to have fun doing it is just an added bonus!”

Because of the very warm weather, defrosting was rapid with the winning times being 14:30 and 16:30.

The fun day is organised by the Broadstone Fields in Trust Association to help the preservation, promotion, and usage of Broadstone Recreation Ground. The Association was established in 2012 with the vision that everyone should have access to free, local outdoor spaces.
