Yehuda Sherlock Holmes 4.0 Achieves Flawless 100% Detection Rate with ASSURE 2.0 Testing

Yehuda Sherlock Holmes 4.0 has set a new standard by achieving a remarkable 100% detection rate in the Natural Diamond Council’s ASSURE 2.0 Program. The device excelled across all four test categories: “Primary loose sample,” “Smalls loose sample,” “Primary mounted sample,” and “Smalls mounted sample.”

As noted on the ASSURE program website, “The ASSURE Program rigorously assesses Diamond Verification Instruments using challenging sample sets to ensure future-proof performance.” This includes samples with synthetic diamonds not yet available in the market.

Remarkably, the Sherlock Holmes 4.0 was tested by a novice operator, identifying 100% of lab-grown diamonds across all samples, with an average false positive rate of just 2.5%. This low false positive rate, which indicates natural diamonds are incorrectly identified as lab-grown, underscores the device’s accuracy. Notably, only one other device matched this detection rate, yet it costs three times more than the Sherlock Holmes 4.0.

With only four devices capable of testing multiple stones in the ASSURE 2.0 Program, Yehuda Diamond Company’s president, Dror Yehuda, stated, “I was very confident our technology would score 100%. Less than 100% and you cannot be certain what you are buying, selling or valuing.

Yehuda’s UK distributor, GVUK Design commented, Although this test was carried out on the flagship Sherlock Holmes 4, the smaller detector, Dr Watson uses the same technology and software which makes the modest cost way less than a single error.

The ASSURE Program has developed a standard to test Diamond Verification Instruments in a consistent manner.
We partnered with leading manufacturers as part of a shared commitment to maintaining consumer confidence.” David Kellie, CEO, Natural Diamond Council.
