Marmalade takes on a six million step challenge

The team of six from Marmalade in Chiswick, west London, have decided to challenge themselves to make a significant difference to the community, clients, and themselves by collectively walking six million steps between June and August. They are undertaking this monumental three-month team challenge to support the work of local charity The Upper Room, which helps local people improve their lives.

Six million steps equates to 3,000 miles, or the distance from Chiswick to Seville in southern Spain and back again.

Marmalade is asking friends, colleagues and all suppliers to make donations during this period directly to The Upper Room, with the aim of raising £3,000. The team have pledged fund matching and, combining this with Gift Aid, means that donating just £10 equates to 30 hot meals for those most in need. If Marmalade succeeds in its target, plus the fund match plus gift aid, it could raise enough money for 9,000 meals.

Donations can be made here and you can also keep track on their progress here.
