CMJ retailer, Jacobs, announced last night an ambitious fundraising program for 2023 in which the established and trusted independent jewellery retailer marks its 75th anniversary in business.
The Berkshire based jewellers has always had close links with the community it serves and this bedrock commitment remains honoured. Incredibly, over the last decade Jacobs has already helped fundraise £136,000 for its charity partner: local NHS Foundation Trust, The Royal Berks Charity.
In this coming year, Jacobs hopes to fundraise a further £39,000 to make that total £175,000 to mark its 75th anniversary. The money will be donated to to fund a refurbishment of the cardiac outpatient department.
Adam Jacobs, partner said “Along with my parents Ian and Adrienne, we’re absolutely thrilled to be celebrating this landmark anniversary. As one of the longest standing independent retailers and familybusinesses in the area, it’s so important to us that we help our local hospital who have looked after not just our families for over 4 generations, but those of our team and customers. We can’t wait to get going!”
The program will include its now famous Spring Social drinks party, a year round in store raffle and an innovative series of “evening with” events. These VIP ticketed events with limited numbers will feature a guest celebrity from either the jewellery world or local Reading community, speaking to attendees about their lives and careers along with a Q&A session.
This will be hosted in Reading’s luxury boutique hotel, The Roseate, and following a drinks reception, in the intimate setting of their private cinema, concluding with a private luxury dinner with the personality joining them. The first personality will be world famous jeweller and ‘All That Glitters’ star Shaun Leane in February. The second, who will feature in the summer of 2023, will be born and bred Reading resident Chris Tarrant, internationally recognised star of TV and radio. A gala one-off evening is also planned for Winter 2023.
