Hello September and hello new birthstone.
This month’s birthstone used to celebrate September babies is sapphire. Sapphires are associated with royalty and some key royal pieces include Princess Diana’s engagement ring, the Queen Mary Russian Brooch which was gifted to Queen Elizabeth by her grandmother Queen Mary and Meghan Markle’s sapphire drop earrings.
The name sapphire originates from the Latin word โโsaphirusโ and the Greek word โsapheirosโ, both meaning blue. The gemstone is believed to promote wisdom, accurate thinking and spiritual truth. It symbolises nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness.
Sapphire isn’t only just September’s birthstone, it is also the gemstone traditionally gifted for a 45th wedding anniversary.
