The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) has demonstrated its commitment to increasing supplier engagement by adding supplier manager duties to the role of the group’s Membership Development Executive, Amber Saunders.
Amber has worked at the CMJ since February 2019 and has a wealth of experience in the jewellery industry. Her role as Membership Development Executive will now seek to improve communications with suppliers as well as retailers, and she will be the first point of contact for new supplier applications. She will also be tasked with reviewing current suppliers to the CMJ to identify how the group can support them to maximise sales through the group.
Michael Aldridge, Chairman of the CMJ, said: “We have been focusing this year on ensuring that suppliers feel valued as part of the CMJ – we want our membership to encompass both retailers and suppliers equally. This expansion of Amber’s role will give her the opportunity to support suppliers and to ensure they have a voice within the group. We feel Amber is perfectly suited to taking on the additional responsibilities, since she has experience and therefore understanding of the needs of both retailers and suppliers.”
Amber added: “I welcome the broadening of my role to encompass supplier manager responsibilities and look forward to developing stronger partnerships with our network or suppliers who represent the best in our industry, and we are fortunate to have.”
