Gecko Jewellery launches bee-inspired collection in collaboration with the British Beekeeper’s Association

Gecko Jewellery has launched a range of bee-inspired sterling silver and gold plated jewellery in collaboration with the British Beekeeper’s Association (BBKA), the UK’s leading bee charity.

The new collection features eight pieces, including earrings, pendants, a ring and a bracelet; with designs featuring bees and honeycomb highlighted with delicate touches of rose and yellow gold plating. Every purchase will raise much-needed funds to protect the British bee, an essential element of our eco-system, with 15% of all sales going direct to the British Beekeeper’s Association.

Gecko’s Elements Silver collection has always taken inspiration from the beauty of the natural world, with other pieces in the range inspired by butterflies, flowers, leaves and water detail. The Gecko team wanted to find a charity partner that fit their stringent CSR policy, as well as resonating with the end consumer.

Commenting on the collaboration, Creative Director, Desiree Pringle, said: “At Gecko, we are always looking at ways that we can help to make the world a little better, and we wanted to partner with a charity that had a clear affiliation with nature. We’ve been overwhelmed with the success of our bee-inspired range which launched in September, and has been a hit from the start.

Consumers love the idea of supporting a charity, whilst treating themselves or a loved one to a beautifully designed piece of jewellery with a meaningful story behind it. This coupled with the keen price points across the collection, means that this is a range ideal for both self-purchase and Christmas-gifting.”

BBKA Relationship Manager, George Brown, said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Gecko to promote the importance of the British honey bee to the end consumer in such an innovative and beautiful way. Our honey bees are under threat and appear to be in decline. To understand why, we need to undertake scientific research. That’s where the 15% donation from all sales of this unique jewellery collection will be so critical; fundraising means that we are able to continue to fund vital research into how we can reverse the decline of UK honey bees numbers.”

Gecko will provide retailers with specific marketing support for this new bee-inspired collection, including display cards for in-store displays and customer care cards, with information about the BBKA collaboration.
