Dipples is nearly 140 years old and is the only fifth generation family jewellery business in Norwich and Dereham.
The business was founded in 1878 in Woodford, Essex, by George Henry Dipple. George did not stay in Woodford for very long – by 1890 he is no longer registered as living in Woodford. Between 1888 and 1890 the business was relocated to Ipswich. The store made a final move to Norwich around 1894 and has been located in Swan Lane every since. The second store in Dereham, which was opened by Rodney Ellis, great grandson of the founder, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013.
Dipples is proud to be a highly respected and well-known store both in Norfolk and beyond. This has enabled it to deal with some of the biggest names in the watch and jewellery world. It has the expertise that allows it to be able to source almost any item you could imagine. Further to this if the team can’t source it, they will use the best designers in Birmingham and London to design bespoke items for you.
Items sold in store include watches from Longines, Ebel, Rado, Gucci, Skagen, Citizen and Mondaine, jewellery by Hearts on Fire Diamonds, Candour, Rachel Galley and Baccarat, china by Moorcroft Pottery and Royal Crown Derby, and crystal by Swarovski. Dipples also has a selection of clocks by Comitti and Seiko.
