Store Manager Joe Blackmore and Managing Director Les Basham from the Suffolk-based jewellers ran the 7th annual Cambridge half marathon on Sunday March 4 before amazingly heading straight to the CMJ Spring trade event!
Joe is currently training to run the London marathon, which takes place next month on the 22 April, as he’s raising money for the charity JDRF which funds medical research into curing type 1 diabetes.
Joe commented: “As many of you will know I have Type 1 Diabetes and to run the London Marathon is a childhood dream. It is also massive personal challenge - to prove to myself that despite having type 1, I can still complete it and get a decent time too! (hopefully!)
I would like to support the amazing research that JDRF are doing to find a cure. I believe one is just around the corner and even if I can’t benefit myself, future generations will get the chance to.”
If you would like to support Joe in his fundraising challenge, he’s setup a JustGiving page which you can use to make a donation, here’s the link - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/joseph-blackmore
Everyone at the CMJ wishes Joe the best with his fundraising efforts!
