Independent jewellery retailer, Wongs Jewellers, visited Alder Hey Children’s Hospital on Thursday 11 January to hand over an amazing cheque for £44,288 to the charity.

The amount was raised at the jeweller’s annual Wongs Winter Ball, an event dedicated to raising money for this great cause. The sold out event, which was held at The Venue, inside the iconic Royal Liver Building and sponsored by luxury brand Carat*, was attended by 200 guests for a night of dining and entertainment. Special guests who attended the night included Olympian Beth Tweddle, Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh, Radio City’s Simon Ross and models Amanda Harrington and Jade Ainsworth.

Cynthia Aldridge, Business Manager at Wongs Jewellers, said: ‘We were delighted and humbled to attend Alder Hey Children’s Hospital yesterday to present a cheque for £44,288. It was amazing to see first hand what the donation goes towards and the fantastic work that all the team at Alder Hey do. We are so lucky and thankful to work with brilliant people in our team and our truly supportive suppliers - we could not do this without them. We are already excited to be planning the Wongs Winter Ball for 2018 and can’t wait to hit the £100k milestone!’

The jewellers have a raised a grand total of £92,289 in a little over 12 months for the charity - a huge well done to team Wongs on this amazing amount raised!
