Plymouth-based jeweller Drakes has raised a fantastic sum of £15,600 for local hospice St Luke’s at their third diamond gala.
The charity event was held on Saturday October 7 at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth and attracted 330 guests and customers. The evening was hosted by BBC Devon DJ David Fitzgerald and guests enjoyed canapés and a two course meal.
Attendees were also invited to take part in a charity raffle and silent auction to raise money for St Luke’s. Businesses that attended generously donated prizes for the charity ball including the Company of Master Jewellers chairman, Michael Aldridge, who donated two sets of Manchester United Executive tickets on the night.
Monique Hirshman, Drakes Director and organiser of the Drakes Diamond Gala comments: “I am absolutely thrilled that we have raised such a fantastic amount for St. Luke’s Hospice and it’s amazing that an event enjoyed by so few can benefit so many. This is a cause very close to all of our hearts and we hope this money will go a long way in supporting the incredible work they carry out within our local community. Everyone had such a wonderful evening and I am completely overwhelmed by the lovely comments from our guests. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it a night to remember.”
