It’s not often that jewellery designers get to meet their potential audience face-to-face and the experience provide to be a hugely positive one for two talented designers recently.

Poole-based family jewellers Forum recently held a ‘Meet the Designers’ event with Vicki Smith from Vixi Jewellery & Victoria Leyshon from Little Star Jewellery. It was a unique opportunity to showcase their jewellery ranges and talk to guests about the inspiration behind their designs and the process of bringing their initial concepts through to production.

Helen Molloy, Forum’s Director explains: “At Forum, we’re very proud of the contemporary jewellery ranges we stock alongside the more traditional styles, so we’re delighted to give new and upcoming designers a platform to demonstrate their talent.”

Vicki Smith, an International award-winning fine jewellery designer of Vixi Jewellery, commented: “It was lovely to meet the customers and to hear the wonderful compliments about the jewellery and see it being worn by lots of different people with different styles. I’ve done launch events before but this was the first ever Meet The Designer and it’s been fabulous fun!”

Victoria Leyshon, designer of the Little Star collection, also found meeting the guests really rewarding: “For me, it was nice to see the interaction between the products and what the customers thought about them. When you sell them into a retailer, you don’t see the immediate reaction or hear the comments about what customers do and don’t like. It gave me some ideas for slightly tweaking things and also allowed me to see which pieces immediately caught people’s eye.”

Guests at the event enjoyed champagne and cupcakes while they browsed and also took home a Forum Jewellers goodie bag.
