You should regularly check jewellery for any wear or damage. The claws of stone-set rings in particular should be inspected for wear to avoid any stones coming loose and being lost.

Caring for Gold, Silver and Platinum

Over time a build up of oils and dirt can cause an item of jewellery to look tired or dull. Often all they need to bring them back to life is a clean.
There are many different ways to clean gold and platinum. For a highly polished finish and to remove any surface scratches your local jeweller will often be able to carry out a thorough clean and polish with specialist equipment in store.
Many jewellers sell micro-fibre cloths or liquid cleaners suitable for cleaning gold, silver and platinum, which can lift dirt and brighten the appearance of your jewellery.

Caring for Diamond Jewellery

To keep your ring sparkling, clean it regularly to remove oils, creams and everyday dirt, which can cloud the stone and make it look dull. Your local jeweller can advise you on how best to clean your diamond jewellery, and will often be able to clean it for you in store with specialist equipment. Alternatively you can buy specialist diamond jewellery cleaning products for you to use at home.

Diamond Jewellery can be stored individually in soft cloth pouches when not being worn to prevent the diamond or diamonds from scratching or dulling other jewellery.
